DPS vs. Healing pt. 3

I bring to you another reason why DPS is preferred over Healing.

It's Your Fault!
Ah... if it's one thing healers LOVE to hear it's "Why didn't you heal me?" or even better a flat out "It's the healer's fault we wiped on that boss." Healing is a thankless job most of the time, and all that does it create a depression for the healer in question. Everyone gets patted on the back when a boss is downed, like 'excellent tanking' or 'great job DPS' and very occasionally the healer will be tossed a bone. However, when a tank or somebody dies and a group wipes, who usually gets blamed first? Healers.

Of course it's not the feral druid trying to tank in cat gear (This actually happened to me in a Heroic Blood Furnace, and the tank more or less 'blamed' me/the paladin class and not his horrible selection of tanking gear.), and let's not blame the mage who keeps pulling aggro off the warrior because he didn't take any aggro reducing talents, pew pew pew! In general though, healers get pooped on every single second that you can blame somebody, and once again you can't gauge how good you heal on anything, if everybody lived it doesn't specifically mean that it was a result of your excellent healing, it could've just meant that you and INSANE DPS OMGZ!

Bleh... so the next time you're in a group with a healer, be sure to show some thanks and appreciation, unless you'd rather be short another healer in the future.

Thanks for the comment Faz. I've got a priest at 39, and I've pretty much decided it's "Face Melting or Bust", I enjoy being a healer, but I also enjoy being fluid. I want the ability to swap out of Shadowform and throw out some minor heals/shields to keep people alive if need be, and then go right back to wtfpwning DPS.

I think being a paladin and trying to melee/judgement while healing is preventing me from getting bored by the '2 button healing' that everyone complains about on the Paladin forums.

Thanks for stopping by!

Being main healer as a druid a few times, I can say it is a taxing job and takes concentration but if your group doesn't work as a team no amount of healing is going to save.

i enjoy being a healer also, but don't have much raiding experience as one. i will soon, if i ever get the priest to 70 or get bored of the rogue ;) but speccing mutilate for pve changes gameplay a whole lot and is much more interesting than spamming backstabs.. so maybe not for a while more.
